Brethren Supporting Brethren

Welcome to Brethren Supporting Brethren!

We are encouraged to live lives focused on giving rather than receiving. There are so many brethren going through trials throughout the world and we can help alleviate some of their burdens! With Brethren Supporting Brethren, we seek to connect brethren in need with those looking to give back. Fundraisers, meal services, and other needs are all included in the list.

If you have a need, or know of one posted by brethren, do not be shy to submit it — that’s what Brethren Supporting Brethren is for! If you would prefer to remain anonymous, we currently allow anonymous submissions through the Brethren Supporting Brethren submission form (included below). You may also email requests and details to Wesley Kendall (wesken20@gmail.com). Please note that assistance for education and business expenses are in most cases more suitable for the Educational & Business Development Grant Program, and those requesting such assistance will be directed to apply for the grant.

We are aware that sometimes there are requests, especially financial, that are not entirely legitimate. While Church of God Network is not responsible for the validity of requests listed on Brethren Supporting Brethren, we strive to include only legitimate requests. We ask that you use diligence to verify requests prior to submitting them.

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” (Matthew 25:37-40, NKJV)

Benefiting party: Scott Familetti and his family

Link to support: https://www.gofundme.com/f/scott-familetti

From the GoFundMe page…

The Familetti family has had a very difficult few weeks. Scott was admitted to the hospital with COVID Pneumonia on August 7th. They quickly transferred him 1.5 hours away to La Crosse, WI. After just 2 days, he was placed on a ventilator. Five days later, he was still under limited sedation, and still on the ventilator, but he was cogent and able to respond to questions from his doctors and nurses. We’re hoping that Scott’s condition will continue to improve to the point of his release from ICU and subsequently from the hospital in the coming days. However, even after his release, he’s going to face an uphill climb to a full recovery. Being confined to a hospital bed for more than a week with no muscle movement will require some physical therapy, and there is concern about any damage that might have occurred to his lungs, which will take time to heal.

We’re starting this GoFundMe for Scott and his family for a few reasons. Scott’s job is the primary source of income for the family, and it will likely be many weeks before he’s strong enough to return to work. Additionally, while the family has good health insurance that will cover most of the costs, there are likely to be some hefty medical bills as a result of his hospitalization. The proceeds from this GoFundMe account will be used to support the family during Scott’s recovery, and to pay the family’s portion of the medical bills not covered by insurance. We wish to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and for helping the family through what could have otherwise be a very stressful financial time.

From the JustGiving page (see the full post on the fundraiser site)…

How long do you think you could last sitting still in one place and not moving a muscle? Could you last half an hour? ….. one hour? …..two hours? What about if you were forced to sit there for a week, a month, a year? I am a natural fidget so wouldn’t last five minutes never mind longer.

My friend Sharon’s husband Vince has had to sit in his chair for 5 years and not move a muscle. Can you imagine what that is like? Even worse he has not been able to communicate with anyone how he is feeling apart from nodding, smiling or frowning. He can’t swallow, meaning he can’t eat or drink either. All he can do is watch and listen to what is going on around him!

…We are trying to raise £8,000, which is the cost of the software that will enable Vince to communicate with people by using eye movement linked to a computer system and therefore be part of the world again instead of just being a spectator with no voice.

…Please help by donating as much as you are able to. Even if it is only the cost of a cup of coffee, or two cups! Every little bit will help towards this massive amount that we need to raise. All donations will go directly to Sharon and Vince.

Thank you so much. We will be eternally grateful for any help you can give.

Atuhaire Ronald aged 9 years is an orphan whose both parents died and now he is leaving with the grand mother by name Mrs Ninsiima Benadeta who stays at Kabagara village, Nyakigumba town council Bunyangabu District in western Uganda. He is now admitted at hospital and is seriously sick suffering from cerebral palsy and the grandmother can’t afford paying her medical bills that’s why I was forced to run for him this campaign to help the old woman pay the medical bills.

From the GivingWay page for Thiaboth Kamir’s hospital bills…

Mr. Tihaboth Kamir aged 41 years is a Ugandan brother who got skin cancer on the leg after he ran mad and was tied up on the legs with a chain which injured him and caused skin cancer. Now he is undergoing treatment at Butabika hospital being treated both mental illness and skin cancer. He is our faithful brother and his medical bills have accumulated which has made the family members restless and has got intense pressure for where all the money for medical bills will come from and that is what has proved me to run this fundraiser for them.

Once the money is sent to us, we shall cash it out and deliver it to the responsible person and take photos for accountability such that we can save the life of our fellow brother.

We have also been informed by his pastor that Victor is fatherless and is also struggling with paying for food and school fees. However, Victor is currently only asking for assistance to get treatment for his mother. If he loses his mother, he will be without parents.

From the M-Changa page…

Victor Ochieng, a 18 year old boy and is a member of Continuing Church Of God in Kenya has a mother who needs Cancer Treatment. They are very poor and he is the only one to look after his mother as his father died when he was one year old many years ago.

Recently, Victor took her mother to hospital and the doctors told him that his mother has only Three months to live if she is not treated. He was told that it would take him more than $ 20,000 to help cover his mother’s cancer treatment bill. Please help Victor to save his mother’s life.

For those outside Kenya, you can as well send through PayPal to Victor Ochieng Ologi directly at: vicochieng423@gmail.com.

This is a legitimate request and this has been both approved by his Pastor Evangelist Evans Ochieng and a friend Wesley Kendall.

Please help Victor.

Benefiting party: Isaac Vierra & Family

From the GoFundMe page…

Meet Isaac Vierra, my 14 year old active nephew and healthy boy who loves to explore! Isaac is Amy Vierra’s (Warrington) son. He is a twin and his sister and family care for him very much! He is a curious boy and recently had an accident that has left him without most of his fingers on his left hand. He has had 2 surgeries in the last two weeks and has another surgery in 1 week. He will continue to have surgeries over the coming year to put him back together, get rehabilitation, and eventually prosthetic fingers, so he can have a normal life. Pain and wound care are big parts of his recovery right now. While Isaac has medical insurance, it doesn’t cover the hospital he had his surgery in, as it was a Level 1 trauma center, one of the best in the country. He stayed there for 10 days for both of his surgeries post accident. There will be other expenses that are not covered by insurance, so we’d like to ask for assistance from those who are willing and able to contribute. It’s going to be a long road to recovery, approximately one year, but we are grateful to those who have reached out with prayers and encouragement.

From the Facebook Donate page…

Just over a week ago my beautiful sister in law Leah had to be put on sedation in the ICU. Extreme blood flow restriction to the back of her brain paired with high blood pressure resulted in multiple seizures and a stroke. She was finally able to be lifted out of sedation but came out with damage to her brain. She will need to spend 3-4 weeks in a specialty rehab facility. She has a 2 month old daughter and loving husband at home that could really use your support and prayers.

Benefiting party: Michael Gonzalez

Link to support: https://givesendgo.com/MichaelGonzalez

From the GiveSendGo page…

On Tuesday December 1, 2020, Michael Gonzalez was traveling home from work when he was hit by a vehicle that crossed over 4 lanes of traffic. The driver of the other vehicle died at the scene, while Michael’s car was totaled. He suffered a punctured lung, a fractured right knee (patella bone) that will require the Lord’s healing or surgery to place a pin in his knee, severe hip pain, and lots of cuts, bruises and bleeding under the skin. He said that the hand of God was on him immediately even before the collision as all he could do during and after the wreck was praise God.

Michael needs a dependable car. He is also unable to work until he heals so he is without income and has regular bills and rent still coming in. He does not have health insurance and expects large hospital bills, follow up appointments, and was told he will need surgery. Michael only had liability coverage on his car and the other driver was not insured. At this time, all that is expected from the insurance company is $2,500 for uninsured motorist personal injury protection. This will likely not even cover the cost of the ambulance.

Anything the body of Christ and others can do to help will be greatly appreciated as cars and healthcare are so expensive now. Our hope is to somehow meet or exceed this goal as many hands make light work. “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2.

Please take time to thank the Lord for Michael’s life, for delivering him through this trial, pray for a full and speedy recovery if it be God’s will, that Michael would learn all the Lord has to teach him through this, help as you can and share with others.

Benefiting party: Kathleen Trone (widow of Dirk Trone)

Link to support: https://www.gofundme.com/f/dirk-trones-widow-fund

From the GoFundMe page…

On Friday, December 11th, Dirk Trone suffered a fatal heart attack while at work.

Dirk’s job was the primary source of income for he and his wife Kathy. Dirk had carried life insurance for years – however, it was unexpectedly canceled just prior to this tragic incident due to a misunderstanding regarding the specific type of cancer he had battled fifteen years ago.

This fundraiser is to help ease the weight of the immediate financial burdens that Kathy now faces, and to give her time to grieve. Additionally, she will have to sell the family home they lived in and raised their family in for 30 years – one that Dirk designed and built by hand.

Dirk had a servant’s heart. If you attended any gathering with him, he and his wife Kathy likely were working behind the scenes to help it all go smoothly.

He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and serving his church community.

He had a genuine appreciation for life, and loved God and his family fiercely.

Dirk was a gentle and kind man who served tirelessly. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

We greatly appreciate your kind thoughts, prayers, messages, and donations that will help ease this difficult journey for Kathy.
